On the Saturday before Memorial Day, we headed out to Camp Floyd. Which was once the largest military base in the U.S., right before the Civil War started.
We were able to see some lovely costumes--I soooo want to sew this!
A little entertainment.
Leo played some futbol.
Elena pondered the tragicness of war.
Ana practiced aiming and firing her rifle.
And led the troop in marching.
She was a good soldier.
Elena eventually thought her rifle was too heavy, and unceramoniously chucked it. Atleast she didn't go AWOL like Emeline.
We also visited the Barber shop.
And other tents.
Talked to a few ladies.
Ran around a bit, and generally had a good time.
