Crater Lake and Other Things

Ana went on Trek!!!  The most I heard from her afterwards was "It was good," and "yeah, it was hard."  That was literally it.  Maybe if she hadn't have been mad at me at the time....kind of my fault, I was in a grouchy mood and jumped on her about a few things right after she got home.  I blame the heat and nausea, but yeah, I was being really a grouch.

The kids helped me pick Nanking Cherries from our bushes and I made a couple of jars of syrup. It's delicious.

Ana was working again, but we headed out with the younger kids and went to Crater Lake, about an hour and a half from our house.  It was a lovely hike, flat pretty much for the first mile, and then the last 3/4 mile, it's a 500 foot drop to the lake.  Nobody was there though, so it was really fun.  I half wanted to jump in and go skinny dipping, if it had been a hotter day, I probably would have.  Hee. Hee. But it actually wasn't that hot, which was nice for hiking.

The kids loved it and ask to go back all the time. Maybe once I'm not pregnant next summer.... As it was Lando hiked the whole way there, but on the way back up I carried Jubal and Leo carried Lando and I thought I was going to die.  Leo had to carry Jubal and Lando for a little bit at the end too.

It was so beautiful!!  And Isabel and Elena, those two can get out and walk.  They were always in the lead.  By the end Sebas and I were slowly making our way.

Anyway, we had a great time.  But it was getting hotter and hotter in our house since we don't have air conditioning, and I was getting meaner and meaner and more and more nauseous, so I decided to abandon my husband and Ana to the heat and went to visit Lindsay (visiting from Miami) at my mom's house and bask in the air conditioning and delicious food that I wouldn't have to cook.  So that's where I am now.

Sinclair's Picnic

Every year Sinclair has a picnic for their employees at the refinery.  And they serve steak.  DELICIOUS steak.  It was good.  The kids loved it.  They also got as many ice cream cones, snocones, cupcakes and popcorn as they could eat. The climbing wall and the water blow-up slide were the hits with the kids.  There was also face painting and other things too.  Ana was working, and wasn't there.  She's working at Buck's Grill this summer as a waitress.

Elena at the top!!!

Sebas at the top!!!

Isabel at the top!!!

Leo also made it to the top on the hardest level.

Lando only made it that far before being a little scared.

Elena and Jubal--so cute!!!  We stayed till the bitter end and were among the three last families to leave, the other two were also huge LDS families. Hee. Hee.

I'm behind and skipping ahead....

So i'm completely skipping our family reunion (but trust me, it was awesome) because I never got out my camera. We came home after spending a little over week in Utah and I was on a roll--I guess I was pretty rejuvenated after our vacation.  But I cleaned and organized the garage, well really the kids cleaned it out--they were great helpers!--and then I put everything away and organized it.  I also finished a bunch of other things around the house that I can't remember now.  The garage was the big one, but now, Leo can FINALLY park his car inside.  Then Kayli and her family stopped at our house on their way back to PA!!!  Yay!!!  It was so fun.    It was also Jubal's birthday.  He turned two years old.  And he got a wagon *cough--for yard work--cough* which he likes being pulled around in.  I think Kayli should come back so the kids can play in the wagon again.
