The last weekend we were in Colombia, (or the last weekend I was in Colombia) we went to stay with some good friends of Leo's family. They have three boys just like Leo's parents and Cesar (Leo's brother) and Juan Carlos, the oldest boy in the other family, were best friends since they were three. Anyway, they are super nice. We had such a good time at their house. Plus Alvaro Sr. loves to cook so they made us amazing meals all the time. Yum. And they spoiled my three girls rotten. Gracie (the mom) told Leo when she first met our girls, "You're a baby having babies!!" Hee. Hee. (He turns 30 this year.)
Anyway, one evening the two oldest boys, Juan Carlos and Alvaro Jr., took us to the Hacienda Santa Barbara. It's an old Spanish hacienda that was built in the 1800's that's been converted into a mall. It was lovely. I love Spanish-style architecture. There were several live bands, and all the top name stories you see in the U.S. plus the top stores from France, England, and Spain, ect. Needless to say, it was just a place to window shop, much too expensive for us. Then we walked to what used to be a town center (it had the big plaza and church) but now has just become part of Bogotá. It was decorated for Christmas and was stunning.
Papa Noel was there taking pictures with kids too.
This is Juan Carlos and Alvaro. Then we went to Crepes and Waffles. Yeah, it was a very nice evening.
Here's my cute girls asleep. Another day the same family took us to a different mall and the girls had their faces painted. We went to Crepes and Waffles that day too. Pretty much that family won my heart over easily with that. Hee. Hee.
