A couple Saturday's ago, Leo's department had a picnic at Mirror Lake. A lot of the people met at 8 AM for a hike beforehand but we thought that was too early and just met for lunch. It was pretty chilly and started to rain soon after we ate so almost everyone left immediately, which was too bad because the rain only lasted 5 mins and it was only sprinkling. We stayed and canoed in our friend's, David Fairbank's canoe. Then after we went to their house (the Fairbanks) for a hot dog roast and we did a short hike to the Indian Bathtubs. It was really fun and so relaxing. We had a marvelous time.
This was at the Indian Bathtubs. We met another family there that the Fairbanks knew so we stayed and chatted for a long time, but the kids loved playing in the tubs, so it was good.
Sebastian in one of the tubs.
Now this was at Mirror Lake. It was so beautiful.
Leo fell in love with canoeing.
I was counting kids' heads and couldn't find Jubal, he was a ways off and had climbed up to the highest point possible along the shoreline. That kid.
Jacob Fairbanks tried to show Sebastian how to fish, but mostly just fished himself till the line got tangled (when Sebastian tried.) Sebastian is so forlorn about fishing. Now he says to Leo, "All I want for my birthday and Christmas is for you to take me fishing."
I love the mountains!
