Sugar Bush Festival

On Saturday the Bells came to visit. Our plan was to go to the famed Chicago St. Patrick's day parade, but Leo's plane was delayed and braving the El with all my kids alone, even with Kayli and Brett's help, didn't seem fun to me. Kayli thought this was more her type of thing anyway.
At the farm, looking in the barn. I love how barns smell. Reminds me of Grandpa Walburger's.
Two cute kids.
Goose girl Ana.
Looking at cows.

Drilling for sap. Oh, this whole Festival was talking about how they make maple syrup.
We were able to taste some actual maple tree sap. It tastes like water. Seriously. Our 1800's maple camp guide. His hat was cool.Watching the vat boil. All in all it was pretty fun. The kids had been up late, so they were a bit of a handful though. I'm sure Kayli will post soon, so you can go to Bells and Whistles and see her cute kids.

You always seem to find the most fun and unique things to go to. Cool!

Are you sure your maple camp guide wasn't some bum of the street?
