Due to unforeseen events, namely, Leo being stuck at the airport in Norfolk ALL day yesterday, we celebrated Ana's birthday this morning and had birthday cake for breakfast. It was a good breakfast. I didn't hear one kid complain. Kayli and Brett and family had come up this weekend to visit, err, maybe it was to pick up parts for their Mercedes, but I know seeing us was the real perk. They had to leave early Sunday to be home for church, so hence the chocolatey breakfast celebration.Brown paper packages from Grandma and Grandpa--how exciting.
Leo and I had technically given Ana a sewing machine early for her birthday, but it didn't work so we decided to get her a mitt as well. Definitely a necessity. Grandma made Ana her very own baby blanket, since every grandchild has one. She really liked it.
I think the hit of the day though was the marshmellow gun from Aunt Kayli and Uncle Brett.
For some reason Ana wanted a football cake. Fun, fun. No complaints here, it was an easy cake to make. Plus, Kayli put on the icing, so even less work for me. Although I think Kayli was most concerned about eating the icing. Yum.
Happy Birthday Ana!
