Wishful Thinking

Leo and I spent an hour wistfully dreaming about someday actually being grown-ups. You know, having a job, owning a house, that sort of a thing. We first started out practical, looking at rental houses in places where he's applied for jobs over the last month or two, but I led him astray and we started looking at ones for sale. (Really, it's because there aren't that many rental houses on the market with 4 bedrooms--how am I ever going to go back to a three bedroom house?!?!??!)

Drumroll-- this house was the winner. Seriously, I love the outside of it, so much personality and I love the colors and lot. Once we saw this house, it kind of killed the joy of looking because nothing else quite compared.
Umm, built in bookshelves??? How can you not love it? And the tile, I actually love that too.
Leo and I were both drooling when we saw this room. I LOVE the wood paneling, and the simplicity of it. I hate all the new houses with all their stupid, weird corners and angles and nooks and crannies. This is simple and elegant, without being ostentatious. Ahh, the first thing I would do would be to take down that hideous big screen tv and put up a painting (this is day-dreaming remember--I have all the money in the world.)
This (A Stream over Rocks; Stream in Val d'Aosta) by John Singer Sargent pretty much fits the bill. Leo and I even picked out the painting together.
Leo's favorite part was the windows. I have to say, I adore all that light too. It's a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath, 2604 sq ft for $244,500 on 1.27 Acres in Houston Texas. Yeah, Texas, not my first choice of places to move, but who knows what life will bring. We also looked at housing in Bakersfield CA, Farmington NM, Laramie WY, Williston ND, Los Alamos NM, and Albuquerque NM.
So where in the world will the Latorre's end up next?
