Jardin Botanico de Bogotá Jose Celestino Mutis

Since I harassed Leo to take us lots of places during the kids' summer break, another place we went was the Jardin Botanico de Bogotá Jose Celestino Mutis, the botanical gardens we had been at for the Christmas lights, but hadn't seen during the day.

Here's the main part with the greenhouses, each one has a separate ecosystem representing a few of the different ecosystems in Colombia.  But I think a few of them were closed when we went.
They were really cool though, and the kids actually had a great time the whole day.  Well, Jubal might not have been a huge fan, but the rest of us enjoyed it all.

Colombia has the highest number of different types of orchids in the world.

Everyone kept saying how this greenhouse reminded them of Bahia Solano with the high humidity and heat.  Leo wanted to leave.  😂 Poor baby does not like the heat.

Different types of corn grown in Colombia in pre-Columbian times. So interesting.

Sebastian insisted I take a photo of this carnivorous plant.
😍😍😍

Colombia's pineapple's are one of the things I miss the most.  SOOO delicious.  Well, all the fruit, even the blueberries and cantaloupe tasted so good there.

Yep, Colombia has deserts.  Or well, two at least that I know of.

Weird plant and weird child. 😜

Another odd plant. And yes, there is three posts about the botanical gardens because I like plants.
