Green River Take 1

  

THE BEST thing that we did on our vacation was rent a raft and raft the first section of the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam.  SO beautiful!  And so fun!!!  I LOVE being out on the water. I'm desperately trying to convince Leo that we should take up canoe camping instead of car camping.  

At first we were kind of nervous, but none of the rapids were bad--Megan said the river was really high this year and it's not normally this calm.  Anyway, then we relaxed, and then we relaxed too much and Nicolas got bounced right out! Leo somehow managed to snag hold off him even though it was completely unexpected!  And then we were laughing so hard!!!  And then Isabel was being silly and overly confident and she fell out too--honestly we were all still in a silly goofy mood since Nicolas bounced out so despite her look of terror (somehow I managed to grab hold of her) I was still laughing pretty hard at her.  Then we wedged ourselves onto a rock.  And that was hilarious.  And then we were swept past the docking spot and I tried to jump out to pull us in but Sebas also tried to jump out  to help and we both got entangled and were just swept down the river and some guys at the dock jumped in to help us get to the second dock.  Still laughing!  But then my expensive camera in the nice new dry sack I bought just to protect it did not protect it, and I was no longer laughing quite as hard. :(  But overall, it was the best part of our vacation!

Efraim does not know how to smile for a camera, he always looks in pain instead.
