We ate hotdogs that we roasted in a fire pit off the side of the trail and hiked all 7 miles. The kids were troopers!!! We lost Lando--he went ahead because he wanted to beat us all back to the van. I'm not a worrier but after a half an hour and we still hadn't caught up to him, I was starting to think about all the bears and cougars in those mountains. Emergency whistles are great for communicating, just FYI. Ana was working. After getting back from the hike, we went to the town fireworks show, which was even more exciting when the sprinklers of the lawn we were sitting on turned on. Good times though.
