La Salle Olympics Day

According to my husband, every year La Salle has a massive family day where they do a lot of fundraising  (ie you have to pay to go on the bounce house etc) and the kids perform for all the parents, grandparents etc. Especially the Prom class.  Graduation is called prom in Colombia, I think referring to promotion, or something like that.  Anyway, since this year the Olympics were going on in Paris, they did it Paris Olympic themed.
So all the different classes got jerseys representing different countries and they did a march around the track and then the parents who volunteered did a dance number.  And then after all the kids had entered the field, they did a bunch of dance numbers. And then the senior class (minus Elena because I didn't really understand what it all was when they started having practices after school, but also we couldn't really have her stay after school, and then the dances were a little too much for my puritan-descent blood so I was glad anyway she didn't join in.  She was too, just FYI) anyway, the senior class then did like a 45 min dance routine, and the whole thing was like three hours long.
There's Jubal.  Afterwards, there were some sports competitions and a whole bunch of food stands to get lunch from.
Lando was really getting into it.
Oh, and smoke thingees.
I think it's pretty cool that La Salle's mascot is a parrot.
The construction workers across the field stopped and watched.  Made me laugh.
Elena played in some basketball games.

All my cute boys!!
Nicolas played in a volleyball game.  He didn't get signed up for the soccer game soon enough.  That language-barrier is rough sometimes.
Jubal played in some soccer games though. He always played goalie.
Efraim got some treats including cotton candy. But he was pretty distraught all afternoon because he wanted to do bounce houses etc, and I had not brought money for any of that.

Isabel didn't come because #1--she didn't want to.  #2--she had to finish her online AP US history class from BYU high school.
We checked out Jubal's classroom.

I got sunburnt.  It was cloudy all day, but I failed to take in consideration the altitude.  Gets me every time.

My edit of the day.

The MAIN dance all the kids did.

La Salle's video they posted on Instagram.

Unfortunately my favorite Prom dance, I thought I was recording but then didn't. Oops!! So you don't get to see the fun one where they were salsa dancing. 😔

One of the dances in which I was glad Elena did not participate.

Not my favorite dance.
