Hair

I want to do my hair like this. Every day.  Seriously, my hair is perfect for this style.
 Ana's cool picture.
So here's my attempts at fingerwaving and pin curls.
I still need a bit of practice.  But not bad for my second shot at it.

The end.

Ana's Birthday

Ana had her birthday on Wednesday.  She wanted another Oreo covered cake like last year.  But I changed it up a bit and crushed the Oreos and added a quart of icecream to the middle per her request.  It was quite easy to do, and very yummy, and Ana, as you can see, was very excited to eat it.

I can't believe we have a teenager!!!  Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
 See, ice cream.
This is Ana thinking, "What is this, that I'm holding up?"  They are nail polish tool things which she loves, now that she knows what they are.  Hee. Hee.
And tons of nail polish.  She loved it.  Yeah!  I always love it when they love their presents.  :)

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

The other day we were supposed to go to the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory, but we weren't very on top of things and the tickets were sold out so instead we went to the Houston Rodeo.  Well, we didn't actually see a rodeo.  But we saw the some other things.  And Ana and I were awesome and wore our boots.  And I don't have a cowboy hat so I substituted another of my really awesome hats.
Elena by some $500 boots and $350 belts.  Crazy.
Some really big donkeys.  $400 stud fee.  I have the card if anyone's interested.
Chilling in the cool arena (as opposed to the heat outside--it was in the low 80's, and crowds of people always feel hot and oppressive.)
At the petting zoo.  It was pretty cool, there was a breed barn featuring Houston's own breed developed here, a Santa Gertrudis, as well as a brahman--there's a lot of those here too because of the heat and humidity, and of course a longhorn.  There were other ones as well, but whatever.  And there was a birthing area and we saw a bunch of day old piglets and a calf a few hours old.  And we saw baby chicks hatching out and rabbits and stuff.

And to the great disgust of my Dad, we didn't even have BBQ, even thought the world championship BBQ cook off is held here with the rodeo.  Nor did we have anything deep-fried, like twinkies, or cheesecake, or kool-aid, or even chocolate-dipped jalapeƱos. But it was a last minute decision to go, another year we'll plan better and go to some horse shows and eat some BBQ.  But then, I don't even like BBQ, but I will eat it anyway.  The end

Kids last week

In brief, Elena pulled out her own tooth, Ana placed 4th in pole vaulting at her track meet, Sebastian and Isabel painted a lot, Leo took apart our vacuum, I looked at a few houses, and that's about it.
