As before seen, I'm making a green 18th century gown. (I haven't worked on it for ages because the picnic I was going to go to with the girls was cancelled. So sad.) Anyway, my kids did this to it, and I posted the picture on an 18th century Facebook group I'm on. It got a bigger response than I expected. Made me laugh so hard.
Leo and I drove early to Rawlins with the boys one Friday, (the girls wanted to go to school). We finished loading up a small Uhaul, and I cleaned the house. It was a very busy day and tiring and sad. I love that house--I put so much blood, sweat and tears into that house.
That floor and bannister! Sniff!
My ceiling! Sob.
And I really, really miss this!!
And honestly, I love driving the I-80. So much open space. I love seeing the horizon just stetch on forever.
Leo stopped and bought us dinner in Rock Springs. Bonsai, it's delicious! And since his company was footing the bill, Sebastian and I pigged out on sushi! So good!
And now our house is sold and all our stuff is in storage. Finally.
This is a very random assortment of photos. May has been hectic as it always is with the end of the year concerts, talent shows, award things, picnics, and field trips at school. And then we went to Rawlins twice and Leo had turn around at the refinery and worked 16 days straight.
Mr. Weiss and Lando on bowtie Tuesday.
Efraim likes to help me make bread.
Jubal being Jubal before preschool.
Jubal did this to get into his brother's stuff. Sigh.
Had to take Jubal to the ER one night because he had fallen with a toy bat in his mouth and cut up the back of his throat. As you can see at the dr requested follow-up the next day it was a waste of trip. He was fine after 12 hours.
Beautiful Elena!
I made blackberry tarts.
Efraim the clingy one.
I love my girls!
I can't remember why he got a bloody lip.
Elena's essay on kindness one her the opportunity to eat lunch with a visiting author, Jason F. Wright.
Efraim also had to play doctor and Jubal's follow-up visit.
I'm a mom and a nurse, hopefully decent at both but that's debatable. I love history and family history and blogging is my way of keeping my family's history. Most of all, I love Leo (mi papacito esposo de Colombia) and Ana, Elena, Isabel, Sebastian, Nicolas, Jubal, and Efraim (mis hijos). My other passion is also dark and rico and from South America--that would be chocolate. Basically I like to eat chocolate, eat chocolate icecream, eat frozen hot chocolates from Dairy Queen, eat Peppermint Yorks, Junior Mints, and of course dark chocolate truffles. Okay, now that I've wiped the slobber off my chin from thinking about all of that, I'll get on to the rest of my blog. Oh, and I'm trying to learn Spanish but spend too much time blogging/sewing/reading/sewing instead.
"Managing a home involves much more than keeping a house clean, organized, and attractive. These skills are important...but these skills are only a means to an end. The paramount objective is to create a setting where family and friends are comfortable and happy, where there are good dinners and good times, where there is fun and laughter, where children acquire good habits and are taught life skills and how to be self-reliant and responsible, where challenges are faced by coupling temporal endeavors with eternal perspectives, where joy through gospel teaching and living prevails, where kindness and respect reign supreme, where love is strong enough to bind the family forever, and where children are nurtured toward eternal life."
