Getting to El Valle

We had to fly out from a different airport than what we flew into in Medellín.  So we were up super early in the morning to make it to the airport by 5 AM, and then our flight was delayed.  And then delayed again.  And we started to get worried we'd never make it.  But thankfully the weather cleared in Choco, and we took a short 1 hour flight to the Pacific Coast.

We saw more of Medellín from the air.

And then the gorgeous Andes!  I love flying over the Andes Mountains.
Look at that thick rainforest!!

And then the Pacific!
The bay near Bahia Solano.
Welcome to the airport.
The hotel we were staying at had arranged the transportation for us, which started off with tuktuks meeting us at the airport.
It was good hour drive to El Valle. I don't know what happened to the videos I took, but the road is deceptively nice in these photos.  Most of it was dirt and filled with huge puddles of water.
And we made it to El Valle.  I don't know that I'd trust that ambulance to get anywhere.
We stopped at this little corner restaurant/bar and had breakfast there.
After breakfast we were taken the rest of the way on the backs of motorbikes.  It was just a little trail and then we just drove down the beach about 2 miles till we reached our hotel.
Tortuga Bay Eco Hotel!
Gorgeous!!!
