Totally Rad 80's Prom Birthday Bash

My awesome cousin Kandi asked me to make her a 80's prom dress for her totally rad 80's Prom 50th birthday party.  She rented a ball room and everything!!!  I thought it would be fun to make so I said yes.  But then I totally wrecked it and I felt awful.  So remind me never to say yes again to anyone.  But the party was super fun!!  Amy, Kayli, Mom and I drove up together.  It was nice to chat and just spend time together.
Kayli's awesome do.
Getting ready at the hotel.

We were late because we had to grab some dinner and swing by Walmart.  But I think going to Walmart was one of the highlights of the night.  People are so funny trying not to stare but still staring.
Kandi in the dress I made her.  Kandi's super nice though and was very gracious about the whole thing.
I just bought a vintage dress off of Etsy and a wig and jewelry, and then swung by the thrift store in my town and found the perfect shoes.
Rockell and Tamara. Two other cousins.
My mom with Karen and Kandi (they're twins and were crowned prom queens.). My mom wore one of Kandi's dresses from the 80's.
The whole group.

It seriously was so fun, I haven't laughed so hard in ages.
Rockelle and I with our punk looks.
Clay (Kandi's brother) and Amy.  Their outfits were some of my favorites!

After it ended we stood in the parking lot and talked with Kandi and Karen and Rockelle for another two hours.  ðŸ˜‚

April

During our actual spring break we didn't do much.  I did take the kids swimming in Heber because they have a little kids area.  We were unimpressed though because the bigger pool had no deep end or diving boards and they kicked all the kids out of the hot tub spa thing.  Ruff.  Still it was fun and then we had yummy food and stopped at Home Depot and I bought this planter to try to save my rose bush.  It didn't work.  The thing is dead.  But the company, David Austin roses (SOO beautiful of roses) is refunding me that one and another.  That one never did well and then winter killed it.
We saw a huge herd of antelope as we were leaving town and had to stop and take pictures because Efraim was sobbing and spoiled.
I love Sebastian's crazy faces!!

We celebrated Easter, but I didn't take many photos.  The Easter bunny hid candy and new swimming towels that will travel well because they fold up small.

A few of my crocuses bloomed.

You can kind of see them all.
I made an Easter decoration out of the blue one day and bought the pretty Bells of Ireland for a nice spring arrangement.

We did color eggs too.

The joys of camping...

No bueno.

This is what happens when it snows and then your tarp collects all the melted water under you, making for a chilly, wet night.  Both Efraim and I were soaked.  Again, those heat packets work wonders even when you're wet.
On the drive home, Kayli's van got a flat.  Leo and Brett changed it super quick.
But we stopped in another little town (forgot the name) and Brett had the tires changed and we got a little bit of pizza to hold everyone over till dinner.
Nicolas broke out in a rash from the sunscreen.

Efraim's eczema went crazy, poor kid.
Unpacking from camping is literally the worst part.
And Megan and Jared's truck's transmission died so they had to leave their trailer in Escalante and were towed for five hours back up to Ogden.  All their kids were squished in to Kayli's and my vehicles.  I didn't mind, but probably not the most fun for the older kids.

So in short, camping is both so much fun, and such a huge pain.  Ugh.
