That afternoon we went with Tundó Tours in a canoe up the Tundó River to explore the mangrove swamps and then on a short hike to a waterfall.
It was really fun. Sebastian said it was his favorite part of the trip.
It was weird seeing crabs just in the trees all over.
I was using a Panasonic camera that I bought specifically to bring to Colombia this day and I think the humidity was messing with it. It had such a hard time focussing on anything and all the pictures aren't that great.
Ugh! Huge spiders everywhere!
Bright blue river prawn.
This is the most biodiverse rainforest on earth per kilometer squared, and one of the rainiest places on earth too.
We had hot chocolate after the hike, which is so funny to me that they serve something hot (we could have had coffee) but it was tasty. But then they washed out all the cups in the river, and the kids were turning green at that. But the guides were super nice, Francisco--I think--and his son.
I was kind of disappointed we didn't see more animals but that's the nature of things.
We did hear toucans but couldn't catch sight of them.
The trees of the mangrove swamps are really cool.
The streets of El Valle.
Heading home to the hotel. It's crazy to me all the noise of the rainforest in the background.
