May 2023 Things

Pretty sunrise (I think?) courtesy of Elena more than likely.
Isabel went to Worlds of Fun with the orchestra. Sebastian went too, and didn't like it.
See yep, Sebastian and Isabel went.
I think Efraim caught a snail or bug.  He made this for it to live in and insisted I take photos.

I wish I remember where and what that recipe was.  It looks yummy.
Cat photo thanks to Elena.
Efraim lost a tooth.
He was excited to put his dollar from the tooth fairy in his wallet.
Elena's nails for graduation.
Efraim had an infection or something.  It got better.
Leo finished training and started flying!!!  CRAZY!!!
I started packing boxes of books.  Mostly because we had a garage sale with our neighbors and sold all the bookshelves and a lot of other things.
Efraim and Clara (they were best friend and played together al the time).  Clara was our neighbor's granddaughter.

Elena played at a cafe with a small ensemble group from her orchestra.
Nicolas made this when we were talking about Peter trying to walk on water.  I loved it!
This was just hilarious.

Ana's Graduation!!!! WOOT!!! WOOT!!! (And Baby/Wedding Shower!)

Aww, Ana and Cecil!
On May 11th, Elena, Isabel, and I drove to Wyoming for Ana's graduation on the 12th and Baby/Wedding Shower on the 13th.  I love the bleakness of Wyoming.  SO MUCH!  I think we spent the night in a hotel in Laramie.  But I've forgotten now.
Elk Mountain hidden in clouds.
We took Ana her sewing machine and a lot of wedding decorations, and I also took Smaug and gave him to my cousin's son.  He already had a lot of reptiles so I figured he'd be well taken care of.
Sunsets for hours!!!

This was in Morgan Valley.  Seriously one of the prettiest places ever.
Okay, enough with scenery shots.  Back to the main attraction!
Ana's graduation from the RN program was in Rock Springs at Western Wyoming Community College. We met up with her and Cecil there.
Yay!!!  So happy for Ana!!!  She's super tough to finish her degree while pregnant, not to mention doing so much of it during Covid, and then having to drive 7 or 8 hours for nursing clinicals (going all over Wyoming.). She's amazing!!!

It was cold and starting to snow by these pictures.  Freezing!

Woot!! Woot!!!! After we went to dinner all together to celebrate at Taggart's Grill on the way to Megan's house.

Then on Saturday we had Ana's Baby/Wedding Shower.  Megan was kind enough to let me have it at her house, and Amy basically did all the games and everything for it.

Cecil went riding with Jared while we had the shower. It was really fun and I hope Ana had a good time.
Ana and Cecil had brought their horse trailer and took all the stuff back along with Megan's barrels and poles to use for wedding decorations.  All in all, a great trip!!
Elena and Megan's dog, Copper.

All my sisters and Mom went in together on the things in the cubbies.  I also sewed some receiving blankets for her.  I should have snapped a picture.  They were cute outdoorsy ones with deer and bears, and camo, etc.
And since I stole all of Elena's photos, here's Elena riding at Megan's house too. We left Sunday morning to drive back to Wichita.  It's a long drive.

A Sad, Sad Day about Smaug

Another thing that I started to prepare for moving was rehoming our pets.  So SAD!!  Lindsay offered to keep Smaug while we were gone, but she wasn't super enthusiastic about it, and in the end we decided it was better just to rehome him.  I tried selling him on Facebook, which included several scam attempts, ugh.  And then, really, all the stuff and equipment and cage he had were worth easily $600+ and people definitely did not want to pay that and after a couple really annoying people low-balling us, I decided just to give him away to my cousin's kid who has lots of reptiles and I knew he'd be well taken care off.  It might be silly of me, but I'd rather give the stuff away to someone I wanted to, then accept a measly $50 for all that stuff, when just a few of the heat lamps cost that. So when we drove to Utah a couple months later, he made the trip with us.  We fixed up his cage, put in new sliding doors (he scratched up the previous ones, and I painted a couple spots that looked bad.  I loved his terrarium so much!!  Sebastian did such a great job.  And I actually miss Smaug.  As does Sebastian.  It was his choice in the end to rehome him, but I felt bad that he even had to make that choice.

Nice photos for Facebook Marketplace (minus Smaug, because you aren't allowed to sell pets on there, although people do all the time.)

New pictograph I added.  I added new ones on the other side too.

Handsome devil.
Hee. Hee.

Sob.  Goodbye Smaug.
