The End of Feb. 2023

Sunrises on the way to school.

Aww, Navy is the sweetest!!
I got a job interview.  And then got a job.  I actually really liked it too and I was sad to leave it.

I think one of the girls--Isabel actually--asked me to make or buy her a housecoat.  So then I decided to sew ones out of linen and used an expensive pattern from this website which basically sold me on the idea of linen and their pattern--so luxurious!  Anyway, I really love linen and the feel of it so it didn't take much to convince me and I made one for Elena, Isabel and me.  Super easy project.  It's Capucine — Linen Bathrobe from Fabric-Store.com.
There's mine.  I also liked that I could make mine bright red.  I love red!
Leo heading out to training again.
Soup--probably clam chowder.  Yum. Yum.

Another day, another drive to school.

I think Elena took these photos at her school actually.  So gorgeous!

Band and Orchestra had a bingo night to raise money so we went.  The kids had fun anyway.  Someone won tickets to a Chiefs game, so it had a lot of attendees.  We never won anything. 😭

I love gnomes and these ones had a RED beard!
These photos were from Isabel's Circle of Love activity at school.

HUGE NEWS!

After Leo switched back to being a pilot and the chaos of Christmas kind of settled, Leo and I started discussing what we wanted to do and go next.  We both wanted to move back to the intermountain west, and I really wanted to move by family, so due to airport availability, that left living close to SLC or Boise (Leo's brother is there, and Leo was equally wanting to go there).  So I twisted Leo's arm about moving closer to SLC.  BUT also Boise home prices are crazy high. However so are SLC's.  We started looking at homes in Tremonton, Utah or I was (am) pushing for Preston, Idaho.  Both of those places are really close to a lot of my family and less expensive than right by SLC. We planned on moving that summer after school ended. But then we thought about moving to Colombia, because why not?  We had always wanted to live overseas and have the kids learn Spanish, and once we started looking into it, we realized we'd have to go right away to make it possible for Elena to go because high school in Colombia ends a year earlier than in the States.  So basically, it was kind of a random thought, thinking we'd go in a year or so and morphed into, DUDE let's go now!!!  CRAZINESS!!!  Anyway, we went for it, and currently I'm writing this in Bogotá, wild, eh?   So here's one of the first steps.  Passport photos for the kids.

We chose Colombia because d/t Leo being Colombian, it made the whole thing easier, visa and residency-wise.  Also, we wanted the kids to learn Spanish and about their dad's culture.  We also thought it would help them develop some resiliency and grit. Plus, I could work on family history!!! There's flights to US every day, and it's only a 5 and ½ hours flight (not too bad for living overseas.)  And lastly, Leo and I both hate that so many US citizens have such a negative view on the States now, insisting that the American Dream is dead, and the US is so awful d/t healthcare, racism, blah blah blah. We wanted our kids to recognize how extremely blessed they are to live in the United States and how many opportunities they have there.  Sure, it's not perfect, but nowhere is (although Canada comes close 😉😉😏).

So to the shock of pretty much everyone, here we are!

Elena's Sweetheart's Dance

Elena went to the Sweetheart's Dance with Aiden and double dated with Kate H.

Kind of convenient that she could use her bridesmaid dress for the dance, too bad I was literally sewing the sleeve while he was upstairs waiting to pick her up.  Oopsie!

She said she had a great time though, so all was well!

Valentine's and More

Hi from Efraim.
Besties Kate and Elena.
I took photos of the cute Valentine's cards the kids made me, because I loved the bee and the sewing machine.  🥰

Arwen hanging out in the tree, suspiciously close to the bird feeder.  Darn cat.
Isabel mad these for a class project.
Jubal, he KILLS me.  😂🤣😂🤣
Aww, Isabel looking beautiful and cutie Efraim.

I think I made that per Efraim's request.  I can't remember if it was good or not, but it looks good anyway!
Driving home from church selfies!
And this was driving to YM/YW's.  The kids all decided to wear hats after I put on my hat, so then Elena and Sebas raided my closet for hats. Silly kids.
Opening Valentine's Day packages from Aunt Amy!!!  She's so kind to send us stuff😍!

I bought a new shirt.
More driving selfies.  I promise I don't take pictures and drive at the same time.

We tested which type of apple we liked the best.  It was fun.  Too bad I forgot the names of my two favorite types.
Another new shirt.  I think I got them both on clearance, but a targeted Facebook ad sucked me in.  Darn things.
Definitely NOT a 90's girl.  I had so many mixed tapes.  This is one of them that I hung on to.
