Abseiling Cascada El Chiflón

Besides hiking to La Chorrera Cascada on the 6th, which was fun, what really made the day incredible was abseiling down 55 m of the nearby El Chiflon waterfall. LOVED it!!!

Leo went first.
This is Allan.

After I took Dad's, Allan's, and Sebastian's photos, the Panasonic camera I bought JUST for coming to Colombia died.  So none of the rest of us had as good of photos.  I returned that camera because it was still under warranty.  And I ended up buying an Olympus Tough5 or something that's waterproof and supposedly one of the most durable phones on the market.  I should have done that from the beginning because I've still managed to crack the screen.
Sebastian killing it.  He said it was fun but cold.

And Isabel!

Nicolas did awesome, he was so happy he got to do it and he wasn't too small like Jubal and Efraim.  Efraim was really sad about not getting to go, but Jubal was okay with it--he's not a huge fan of heights.

Elena!!!

And me!! It was such a rush--I LOVED it!!

Isabel was tough and hiked a lot of the way up and almost the whole way down carrying Allison.
Hiking back to the car we had to make room for some cows.

One thing I love about Colombia (and Sebastian loves too) is that we passed by about 4 or more different ecosystems just driving for an hour and a half, including moors, savannahs, cloud forests, Andean dry forests, etc. It's pretty much determined by your altitude. Some other very Colombian things we saw was a guy riding his horse with his big old machete and some other guys riding around on their motorcycles with ruanas on (Bruno on a motorcycle.) Makes me laugh every time, just because it's so Colombia. Anyway, if I could live where I could see cows grazing, I might never leave. The Andes are so beautiful!

After we had THE best chicken at Don Roque in the Las Cruces neighborhood of Bogotá (a very sketchy neighborhood--I told Leo that was not a good idea and we shouldn't go back).  It was delicious.  Good times!
And the video.
