A few more things April things

I made an Easter wreath.  (After Easter ended, but it will be ready for next year)

Leo secretly likes Smaug.

I made a cake for the secretary at Leo's work who likes giraffes.

And a chocolate explosion cake for my kids with the extra.

We (mostly Leo) chopped down this tree so we could move our canoe and kayaks there.

Leo hard at work.  It was a busy month.  I started a Spanish class and now can no longer keep up with anything. 
 

The joys of camping...

No bueno.

This is what happens when it snows and then your tarp collects all the melted water under you, making for a chilly, wet night.  Both Efraim and I were soaked.  Again, those heat packets work wonders even when you're wet.

On the drive home, Kayli's van got a flat.  Leo and Brett changed it super quick.  

But we stopped in another little town (forgot the name) and Brett had the tires changed and we got a little bit of pizza to hold everyone over till dinner.  

Nicolas broke out in a rash from the sunscreen.

Efraim's eczema went crazy, poor kid.   

Unpacking from camping is literally the worst part.  

And Megan and Jared's truck's transmission died so they had to leave their trailer in Escalante and were towed for five hours back up to Ogden.  All their kids were squished in to Kayli's and my vehicles.  I didn't mind, but probably not the most fun for the older kids.  

So in short, camping is both so much fun, and such a huge pain.  Ugh.

 

The Last Day and almost to Bryce

The very last day we stopped at the Hole-in-the-Rock Pioneer site.  And then we went to Bryce Canyon and were going to hike there, but we couldn't get parking.  They run shuttles in the summer but they weren't going yet, so lame-sauce.  We got our money back and then just ate lunch at Mossy Cave(?) I think that was the name.  Then we headed home.

Devil's Garden Again

After Spooky and Peek-a-boo we were going to hike Zebra Canyon, but it was too long for the time left in the day. So we went to Devil's Garden again.  Much nicer this time minus the snow and poo and Leo around to help keep track of kids.
